چکیده

Abstract A pilot's control behavior has a direct impact on aviation safety. To adapt to new flight training reforms, competency-based assessment method is proposed in this paper. First, scenarios, key competencies and observable behaviours were determined. Then, indexes developed based standard operating procedures practical examination standards. Flight data analyzed curve similarity theory time series fast retrieval algorithm, the scored. The competency was established by quantifying “HOW MANY” OFTEN” behaviors according score results. Finally, fuzzy C-means clustering algorithm used classify values, results obtained. teardrop pattern procedure test reliability of method. indicate that correlation coefficient between model evaluation expert 0.947 with significance level 0.01, reliably objectively manual performance improving scientific nature methods. institutions can use establish diverse scenarios formulate corresponding characteristics each pilot reasonably evaluate pilot. Targeted methods then be adopted for different levels improve their competency.

Sciamachy In-flight Instrument Performance

On 1st of March 2002 ENVISAT with SCIAMACHY on-board was launched successfully in a sun-synchronous polar orbit. SCIAMACHY is a passive remote sensing instrument, which measures solar back scattered and reflected light from the atmosphere in nadir and limb viewing geometries during the majority of an orbit. In addition solar and lunar occultation measurements will be performed regularly. Measur...

Hypoxia and flight performance of military instructor pilots in a flight simulator.

INTRODUCTION Military aircrew and other operational personnel frequently perform their duties at altitudes posing a significant hypoxia risk, often with limited access to supplemental oxygen. Despite the significant risk hypoxia poses, there are few studies relating it to primary flight performance, which is the purpose of the present study. METHODS Objective, quantitative measures of aircraf...

Effects of Advanced Cockpit Displays on General Aviation Pilots’ Decisions to Continue Visual Flight Rules Flight into Instrument Meteorological Conditions

Thirty pilots flew a simulated VFR cross country flight into deteriorating weather with one of three levels of display support: a control display with standard instruments, a synthetic vision system (SVS) display depicting terrain and a highway in the sky (HITS), and a configuration in which the same SVS HITS display was augmented by an electronic moving map depicting weather. Results revealed ...

Stress Training Improves Performance During a Stressful Flight

OBJECTIVE This study investigated whether stress training introduced during the acquisition of simulator-based flight skills enhances pilot performance during subsequent stressful flight operations in an actual aircraft. BACKGROUND Despite knowledge that preconditions to aircraft accidents can be strongly influenced by pilot stress, little is known about the effectiveness of stress training a...
